This week's show is the Wild Card show. All acts this week are acts that were eliminated previously this season and are being brought back for one final crack at making the semi-finals. It's interesting to note that, of the 12 acts that are being brought back, a whopping 4 of them are acts that competed against Melissa in quarterfinal number 4. That's the most of any of the 5 quarter-finals (the only other one that is even close was week 1, where 3 acts are being brought back), and is further proof that Melissa was placed in the toughest group--and still advanced!
But on to the important stuff: The Semi-Finals! The 2 possible dates for Melissa's performance are Tuesday, August 23rd and Tuesday, August 30. As of right now, we do not know which one Melissa will be performing in. However, we do have a guess, and that guess is that it will be the 30th. This is based on Melissa's comedy performance schedule outside of AGT, as listed in this post from her official blog. Notice that she doesn't have anything booked on either the 23rd or the 30th, so no insights there. However, she has a ton of gigs booked leading up to the 23rd, and she also has a gig booked at 8:30 PM on the 24th, which is the same night as the results show. It would still be possible for her to make it to that, as the results show is done by 7:00 PM pacific time, but this would seem to be cutting it a little close. Contrast this to the week of the 30th, where she has no gigs after the 27th. She does have a gig on the same night as the second week's results show, but it isn't until 10:00 PM. So, based on all this, we're GUESSING that Melissa will appear in the semi-final on the 30th, but it is just a guess (and we've been wrong before). Either way, we'll be ready!
Update 8/21: Naturally, our guess was wrong again, and we now know that Melissa will be performing on Tuesday the 23rd.
